Description

From Pany, the PostBus drives past the Pany ski lift to the Riedwies stop. Here the snowshoe trail begins with slight climbs over sugary pastures and through sparse forest sections. Passing cosy alpine huts you reach the idyllic mountain pasture settlement of Tratza. In the Hofbeizli you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over the Prättigau.

Then the trail climbs again up to 1730 m above sea level to the highest point of the tour on Calondis. From here it runs alternately between open areas and woods to Bova to the boda hut. The cosy parlour and the terrace alone are worth a visit. This is where the trail turns.

Leisurely it goes over open mountain pasture terrain down to the Tüfelstein. Then you reach the end point at the Pany ski lift slightly downhill.

Geheimtipp

Warming up is provided in the Güggelstein restaurant (at the parking lot/valley station) or in Nini's Puurästübli in the Riedwies.
Strengthen yourself before the last ascent in the Tratza-Beizli (Friday - Monday, 10.00 - 16.00 o'clock, approx. until mid-March) before you set off for the highest point of the tour, Calondis. The trail continues via Carals, Säss to the Bodahütte (open Saturday and Sunday from Christmas until mid-March), where you can warm up and fortify yourself before the descent.

The Panyer snowshoe trails have various crossing points where a tour can be extended, combined or shortened. Pay attention to the signposts, Pocketmap is available at the start to take with you.

Forest sections and mixed terrain: Please stay on the marked trail so as not to unnecessarily burden nature and wildlife. In the vicinity of the village, the trails are mostly on private property. Please stay on the marked route here as well.

Sicherheitshinweis

The marked snowshoe trails of Pany and St. Antönien lead into the unsecured, partly alpine winter terrain. It is up to each tourer to fully equip himself and to inform himself about the snow and avalanche conditions before the tour. Please also note the safety instructions in the pocket map for the snowshoe trails and on the central information boards in Pany and St. Antönien.

The time is a guideline in good conditions for reasonably experienced tourers. Times for snowshoe tours can vary greatly depending on conditions, equipment and condition. Plan enough time and start early for the planned tour!

This tour description and the marking in the terrain do not constitute a tour recommendation. Every decision to climb is the sole responsibility of the individual tourer. It is strongly discouraged to climb in poor visibility conditions (fog, snowfall, etc.) or when there is an increased risk of avalanches. Attention spring conditions: From about March and generally on warm and/or very sunny days, tours must be completed early.

Ausrüstung

Well-functioning snowshoes, poles with winter plates, sturdy shoes, winter clothing. In winter, the wind can severely reduce the perceived temperature: winter gloves, hat, thermos bottle, etc. Don't forget!

It is advisable to carry a complete set of winter tour equipment including an avalanche transceiver on the marked snowshoe trails of Pany and St. Antönien as well as generally on all tours in open alpine terrain.

Directions

From the ski lift car park, take the snow tour bus to Riedwies, where you can fortify yourself at Nini's Puurästübli (self-service). From Riedwies, the trail crosses the trail a few times until you almost reach the highest point of Tratza.  Through beautiful forest areas, the route climbs steadily higher. At the beautifully situated mountain pasture village 'Tratza' you cross the upper end of the toboggan run. Fortify yourself in the Tratzabeizli (Friday - Monday, 10.00 am - 4.00 pm until mid-March) before you tackle the ascent to the culmination point. Magnificent view of the front Prättigau! Now you follow the rolled winter hiking trail for a while, first through the forest, then gently downhill below the hiking trail until the path branches off again to Carals. At the junction you can choose the shortcut to Ronggaletz (No. 12) or continue via Carals to Boden to the Bodahütte (open Saturday and Sunday from Christmas to Easter) Now again more leisurely in the open mountain pasture area to the Tüfelstein (further branching point) and here finally slightly downhill and across the Chlus back to the starting point.
