Plävigginer See

The route to Alp Meder was long considered a hidden gem in the Middle Prättigau. It leads to a pristine area with a magnificent panorama. The official signage has not diminished the route's fascination.

Description

The route starts in Küblis and follows along the beautiful Landquart. Past cozy riverside spots, the path climbs in short but steep ramps up to Saas. Then follows the ascent via the mountain road towards Madrisa. After about four kilometers, the route branches towards Oberberg. The alpine path leads below Zastia to the idyllic Alp Meder. At Alp Meder, the highest point of the route is reached. Here it is worth taking a break to enjoy more than just a glance at the beautiful mountain panorama. Now follows the exciting descent on a flowing singletrail to Runggalin and further to Lake Pläviggin. This reservoir supplies water to Küblis via the pressure tunnel, enabling the power station in the valley to generate electricity. The descent to Küblis is not quite as steep as the pressure tunnel. From Lake Pläviggin to Tälfsch and down to Küblis, the path is technically quite easy to ride, but it still becomes quite steep. Concentration is therefore required once again. You race back into Küblis.
