Details

Description

From the valley station (917 m above sea level) it goes via Plandadein and Cania up to the mountain station (1700 m above sea level). Once at the top, the snowshoe tour leads in the direction of Höreli (1788 m above sea level). From there you have a unique view of the Vorderprättigau and even as far as Chur, Lenzerheide and the Grisons Oberland. Continue up to the "Brunnen" at 1920 m above sea level, the highest point of the Scheeschuhtour. Under the majestic sight of Fana's local mountain Sassauna (2307 m above sea level), the signposted path leads you gently down towards Huoba (1811 m above sea level). From there it goes back to the mountain station of the cable car. You can stop off at the cosy mountain inn Sassauna right next to the mountain station or in the Plandadein-Baizli (between Cania and valley station).

You can rent snowshoes comfortably at the valley station and return them after the tour.

Geheimtipp

A visit to the cozy mountain inn Sassauna and the Plandadein-Baizli is always worthwhile. Is this snowshoe tour too long for you? Start and/or end the tour at the Fanas mountain station (see round trip mountain station Eggli - Höreli - Huoba). For summiteers, we recommend a snowshoe hike up to Sassauna (2307 m), Fana's local mountain.

Sicherheitshinweis

The marked snowshoe tour leads into the unsecured, partly alpine winter terrain. It is up to each tourer to fully equip themselves and inform themselves about the snow and avalanche conditions before the tour.

The time indication is a guideline in good conditions for reasonably experienced tourers. Times for snowshoe tours can vary greatly depending on conditions, equipment and condition. Plan enough time and start early for the planned tour!

This tour description and the marking in the terrain do not represent a tour recommendation. Each inspection decision is the sole responsibility of the individual tourer. An inspection in poor visibility conditions (fog, snowfall, etc.) or in the event of an increased avalanche danger is strongly discouraged. Attention spring conditions: From about March and generally on warm and /or very sunny days, tours must be ended early.

Ausrüstung

Well-functioning snowshoes, poles with winter plates, good footwear, winter-ready clothing. The wind can significantly reduce the perceived temperature in winter: do not forget winter gloves, hat, thermos bottle, etc.!

The carrying of a complete winter tour equipment including avalanche detector is recommended on the marked snowshoe trail as well as generally on all tours in the open alpine terrain.
