When Maurice Steger performs with the La Cetra Baroque Orchestra Basel, the joy of making music is combined with virtuosity. Con Passione – with passion – is the name of the programme put together exclusively for Klosters Music. As with the touching concert in the church of St. Jakob in the summer of 2022, the Swiss recorder player and conductor has invited the Spanish soprano Nuria Rial to give space to special vocal music in addition to glamorous instrumental concertos by Antonio Vivaldi and Arcangelo Corelli. Rial's bell-like voice beguiles with its unmistakable timbre. Claudio Monteverdi's passionate "Lamento della Ninfa" arouses great emotions. The two arias "Lascia la spina" and "Tu del ciel" from George Frideric Handel's oratorio "Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno" are of intimate, fragile beauty.
