Description

In Klosters Dorf the cable railway Madrisa takes you up to the top station Madrisa (1884 metres above sea-level). The first panoramic view into all the mountains is marvellous. There is a possibility to stop at the mountain inn 'Saaseralp' for some refreshment. Passing 'Untersäss' (1940 m) you get to point 1978 m from where the track is getting steeper and might cause perspiration until you get to 'Obersäss' (2158 m). From there on it is an easy flat walk along a slope into the valley. From afar the white karst looks like a field of snow and soon after there is another steep climb. However, the track is not dangerous anywhere. Going zigzag up you finally get to 'Rätschenjoch' (2602 m) where you are rewarded for the strain with a breathtaking panorama. The ideal place to enjoy your picnic.....

The descent starts behind the 'Rätschenjoch'. For a short while you follow the rocks of the karst and climb 300 metres down to point 2304 m.  A scree slope appears behind a rock face which seems to be insuperable. You carefully climb down along the rock face on the right-hand side. The path leads along a slope to point 2004 m. From there on it is getting flatter and you soon reach the settlement 'Sunnistafel' (1747 m). Across the alpine road you get to the settlement 'Rüti' (1461 m).  If you turn round you can nearly follow the whole tour with your eyes.
