From the mountain station of the Fanas cable car you can reach the first summit, Sassauna (2307 m), via the rather steep southern flank. The panorama rewards for the first effort. On one side there are the sizes of the Rätikon - Schesaplana, Drusenfluh, Sulzfluh - while on the other side you can see the expanses of the Prättigau.  Now you leave the marked mountain hiking trails and follow the ridge line (T4) in the pathless terrain.  Here comes the key point of this tour - surefootedness is required. Exposed passages require a few steps every now and then, but those who master the section to Pfäwi can enjoy the rest. Now the peaks of Lägend-, Tüf- and Hoch- Sagettis are collected before crossing the hiking trail on the Fadurer Fürggli. Via the steep, but easily walkable ridge you reach the highest point of this tour, the Girenspitz.  The spectacular view makes you pause before you take the descent to Hochstelli and then steeply down to the marked mountain hiking trail. The red and white path leads to Schuderser Maiensäss and from there over the road to Schuders. From there, the Postbus drives over the famous Salginatobel Bridge back into the valley.

Option 1: If the ridge line is too demanding for you or the bad conditions do not allow it, you can cross the Fadurer Kessel at an altitude of around 2000 m on white-red marked mountain hiking trails.

Option 2: From Fadurer Fürggli

you reach the Prättigauer Höhenweg via the saddle of Gostrosa, which leads to the Schesaplanahütte, which offers an excellent starting point for further alpine hikes. approx. 2 hours from Fadurer Fürggli, T2

With the Fanas cable car you can effortlessly overcome the first meters of altitude.
Enjoy a snack and the view in the Berghaus Sassauna before you start freshly strengthened.

According to hiking scale SAC, the trail is classified as T4 to T5 (challenging alpine hiking). The ridge from Sassauna to Höchstelli is not marked.
The key point between Sassauna and Pfäwi is considered T5, the ridge T4.

Path / terrain: Often pathless, in certain places it needs the hands to move forward, individual simple climbing points. Exposed, challenging terrain, tricky grass heaps, Schrofen.

Requirement: Mountain boots. Safe terrain assessment and very good orientation. Good alpine experience.

Sturdy mountain boots, mountain hiking clothing adapted to the season. An up-to-date hiking map in your backpack is just as advisable as sun, rain and heat protection, water bottle and tour provisions. Touring poles increase sure-footedness and relieve the joints. For emergencies: first aid kit, rescue blanket, mobile phone. In addition, compass and altimeter may be recommended.
