Hochebene Clun

In the 2023/2024 winter season, the winter hiking trail is only accessible from the Fideriser Heuberge, from the Berghaus Arflina and leads to the Arflina Furgga and back. Due to the temporary closure of the Hochwang ski area, the winter hiking trail cannot be prepared up to the Berghaus Hochwang. The start from Hochwang is therefore not possible.

Since the 2019/2020 winter season, a winter hiking trail has connected the two snow sports areas Fideriser Heuberge and Hochwang. The attractive route in avalanche-safe and gentle terrain is very promising and very sunny. It can be walked in both directions and is also suitable as a public transport round trip. Don't miss: the 12 km long toboggan run from the Heuberge to Fideris!

Description

Start Heuberge: The path, which is rolled by snow groomers, leads from the 2000-metre-high Berghaus Arflina over several plateaus up to the Arflinafurgga (2246 m). This pass connects the valleys Prättigau and Schanfigg - the view shows from then on the Arosa and Lenzerheide mountains and towards Surselva. After a short descent you reach the Fanin Pass, where you can catch another glimpse of the mountain range of the Rätikon with the Swiss Gate. The route is now relatively flat along gentle mountain slopes below the Mittagspitz and Cunggel westwards, still above the tree line throughout. Finally, a few hairpin bends lead to a fork where you gain the path to the Berghaus Hochwang (1957 m). Alternatively, you can descend to Peist. From the Berghaus, the trail leads for about 1.3 km to the Triemel mountain station of the chairlift (1880 m).

Start Hochwang Closed in winter 2023/2024!

From the Triemel mountain station, follow the chairlift to the Berghaus Hochwang. About 300 m after the mountain hut, the path branches off to the left (signposted "Arflina"). After a short ascent, you gain the gentle slopes below Cunggel and Mittagsspitz and soon see the culmination point of Arflinafurgga. From the pass, the path leads in an easterly direction to the Arflina mountain hut.
