Description

The name suggests it: In the lower, separate sector of the via ferrata, the route has been designed technically easy. So the "Via Ferrata" even offers sporty children from about 8 to 10 years old and beginners a fantastic rock experience. The location of the via ferrata provides ideal conditions for a family outing: While some climb the via ferrata, others can row on the Partnunsee and relax at the wonderfully situated barbecue areas on the lake shore.

Please note, however, that via ferratas are intended for mountaineers and guests of mountain guides. They are not suitable for hikers.
Sure-footedness and a head for heights, physical fitness, and the necessary skills for climbing a via ferrata are indispensable.

Approach (all approach routes are marked mountain hiking trails):

From Partnunstafel about 1 hour (the Bus alpin (reservation required) takes you to the Alpenrösli mountain hut, check timetable/season times.)
From Carschinahütte about 50 min.
From Tilisunahütte via Tilisunafürggli about 1.5 hours.

Descent (all descent routes are marked mountain hiking trails):

Through the Gemstobeltritt (requires good sure-footedness again), via Partnunsee to Partnunstafel about 1 hour.
(Right below Partnunsee you can rent a trottinett (kick scooter) with which you can ride to St. Antönien Platz.)

Insider tips

At the end, enjoy a short cooling off in the crystal clear Partnunsee and then ride down to the valley with the trottinett (kick scooter)...

Safety notice

We generally recommend hiring a certified mountain guide for the ascent. All approaches lead via marked hiking trails.

Only attempt the via ferrata with the necessary experience
Good fitness, sure-footedness, and a head for heights are prerequisites for a safe ascent.
Appropriate equipment is mandatory. Climbing harness, via ferrata set, helmet, good footwear, suitable clothing, and gloves are essential.
Only start in stable weather. Ascending the via ferrata during thunderstorms is life-threatening.
Do not trigger rockfalls. Respect flora and fauna. Do not leave any waste.
Every ascent is at your own risk.

Equipment

Appropriate equipment is mandatory. Climbing harness, via ferrata set, rockfall helmet, good footwear, suitable clothing, and gloves are essential.

Important for children: When equipping, ensure that the via ferrata set and harness are suitable for the child's weight and size. Always belay the child in case of uncertainty. Not recommended for children under 8 years.

Public Transport

Take the Rhaetian Railway to Schiers or Küblis and then the PostBus to St. Antönien. Some routes go as far as the Sagaris stop, others to St. Antönien Platz (village). From St. Antönien Sagaris you can use the Bus alpin (reservation required) to the Alpenrösli mountain hut (reduces hiking time by 0.5 hours).

Travel Information

Motorway A13 to Landquart. Take exit 14 and drive on National Road N28 towards Landquart, Davos, Vereina. Leave the national road at Küblis towards St. Antönien, Küblis. Follow the mountain road to St. Antönien, then drive towards Partnun to parking lot 6.

From parking lot 6 you can use the Bus alpin (reservation required) to the Alpenrösli mountain hut.

Parking

All parking lots in St. Antönien are subject to fees. Payment can be made with cash, Parkingpay app, or Twint. The last parking lot, P6, with day tickets, is located below the Partnunstafel, about 3.5 km outside of St. Antönien. The parking lots below the mountain huts are reserved for house guests.
